Boston Hard Rockers Neon Alley To Release New Video “That's How It Is”

Boston, MA - Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, Boston rockers Neon Alley are releasing a new video “That's How It Is”!

Watch Neon Alley's “That's How It Is” video:

A Young Woman wakes on the floor, trapped in a nebulous white room. It's minimalistic and sparse but evokes the future. There's only a white cube furniture piece with a VR headset on the center. She waves her hand over the cube and holograms of the band appear behind her (in the style of Star Wars holograms). They begin to play. As the guitar lead begins, she dons the headset and is taken to various spaces in a Virtual Reality world. And in each scene she becomes a different person.

In each scene she experiences what it's like being in someone else's body through her avatar. Some bodies are interesting. Other bodies are uncomfortable. So she leaves each scene in search of a better body/persona until she finds herself in an avatar that looks just like her own body except she's clean, nicely dressed in 50’s retro style. The body fits so well that she begins to dance and rocks out, having the time of her life.

End with her back in the white room as she sits down, sweaty, and removes the VR headset. She laughs. What a blast.

Camera cuts to a WS outside of the room and we see multiple rooms, each with one person. Each person looks dejected, upset or depressed. Except for her.

Says guitarist and band leader Dave Vaccaro, “The video, like the song is about the people we cross paths with and interact with everyday. Kind, clever, smart, slow, inspiring, funny, good or bad. It's just how people are and that's never going to change. The only thing that you can control is how you react to them. Like our woman in theVR headset (played by Shannon Ashe), some of the people she becomes she likes. Others she finds interesting, and still others she can do without.

“Wouldn't it be interesting to be somebody else for a time? Who would you be if you could be someone else for a day?

“Directed by Valdimir Minuty the video is one of several interpretations of the song that the band felt best represented the idea of 'That's How It Is'. Since Vlad is an artist as well as a film maker (he does great story boards BTW) he was able to translate the feel of the song in a very basic way that worked quite well given the limited resources we had available to us.

One thing we didn't want was a typical performance video of the band playing in some dilapidated industrial building. We really like how the video turned out, especially the sci-fi vibe of it. It's different.”

The live footage was shot all in one day at a studio/sound stage in Allston, MA called Red Sky Studio with post production taking another few weeks for edits and revisions.

NEON Alley is:
David Vaccaro – Lead vocals, guitars, keyboards
Mike McDonald – Bass, vocals
Scott Marion – Drums & percussion

BACKGROUND: David Vaccaro's story in music has a rare upward sweep. Vaccaro has journeyed from hardscrabble Boston club dates to the 90's music scene of Los Angeles and creative collaborations with some of melodic rock's platinum selling vocalists. With the self-titled debut album of his new band Neon Alley (out on DMV Music), Vaccaro revisits that visceral soulfulness of his early days. This collection of originals including a cleverly re-imagined cover is perfectly crafted for sweat-soaked live performances.

And Neon Alley has been doing just that, sweat-soaked live performances in clubs in and around Central Massachusetts, working their live show and earning a reputation as one of the best live bands in the area.

Here's what's being said about Neon Alley's debut album:

“...David carries a talent for carrying a tune, and there are plenty of those reverberating in hummable hard rock fashion. Highlights are carved out in the form of 'That's How It Is', a catchy rock anthem and the dreamy echoes of 'I Only Want to Be With You'. The cover of 'Jailhouse Rock' is another favorite; a refreshing reworking of the classic...” - Daniel Pavlica, therocktologist.com

“This album chock full of guitar-driven modern classic rockers kicks off in fine style with the thunderous 'That's How It Is', and backs it up with the more melodic 'All I Want', before that aforementioned cover, a rather unexpectedly ballsy 'Jailhouse Rock'. Wow, what a brilliant rendition these boys bring to the fore here, which they follow up with the drum-led 'I Only Want To Be With You'.” - Exclusive Magazine

“Neon Alley, It is loud, it is brash, it is exactly what Classic Rock should be.” - Simon Barrett, Blog Talk Radio

“NEON ALLEY: A solid dose of arena rock in search of an arena, this power trio delivers the kind of classic headbang that will speak for the generation throughout the generations. For teens that go to music festivals where it’s about rocking out instead of seeing and being seen, it’s like the 80s and 90s never left. Hot stuff that raging hormones will totally understand.”  - midwestrecord.com

“Grab a copy of this album, put it into your car, roll the windows down and crank it up while it’s still warm out and cruise to your heart’s content.” -  Altered Frequencies.com

“The new eight-song release begins with the guitar-riff driving rhythm of "That's How It Is" which will get the blood pumping.”  - JP's MusicBlog.com

The Pink Fairies To Release First New Album “Naked Radio” In 3 Decades!

London - The legendary Pink Fairies will be releasing their new album titled “Naked Radio” on Gonzo Multimedia. It is the first studio recording by this line up of the band since “Kill Em and Eat Em” in 1987. Fronted by Andy Colquhoun (The Deviants), the band reformed in 2013 and played a number of successful UK shows through 2014 and 2015.

Says drummer Russell Hunter, “It's over 45 years since the first studio album and nearly 30 since the last - The passage of these years is inevitably etched to some extent on all these songs, some much deeper than others. But in the final analysis, they’re all some facet of The Pink Fairies.”

The Pink Fairies are an English rock band initially active in the London (Ladbroke Grove) underground and psychedelic scene of the early 1970's. They promoted free music, drug taking and anarchy and often performed impromptu gigs and other agitprop stunts, such as playing for free outside the gates at the Bath and Isle of Wight pop festivals in 1970, as well as appearing at Phun City, the first Glastonbury and many other free festivals including Windsor and Trentishoe.

After various line-ups through the years, now fronted by Andy Colquhoun (The Deviants), the band reformed in 2013 and played a number of successful UK shows through 2014 and 2015! And now much to the excitement of Pink Fairies fans worldwide, the new album 'Naked Radio' is scheduled for pre-order on October 14, 2016.

The Pink Fairies are:
Andy Colquhoun guitar and vocals

UK Rockers, The 109s, Deliver White-Knuckle 12-track Debut Abum

Hampshire-based four-piece, The 109s, are here to put rock riffs back where they belong: loud and high in the mix, clawing and stomping their way through the speaker cones to grab listeners by the throat and pummel them into submission . . .

The 109s have taken everything good about Zeppelin, Sabbath, Royal Blood, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, MC5, The Stooges, Soundgarden and The Black Keys, and distilled from it a 100-percent-proof moonshine-mash that is all their own - a heady brew that kicks like a mule, burns like a mother, but has everyone asking for seconds . . .
The fantastic power of the band's music is led by vocalist Damian Shelley’s strong but nuanced delivery and impressive vocal harmonies, while lead guitarist, Matty Pritchard's short, high-octane solos reference everyone from Jimmy Page to J. Mascis.

Of course, none of this would be real rock if there wasn't a stunning rhythm section (Pete Smith, bass, and Steve Collings, drums) who deliver the precision-power and flair of legendary pairings such as John Bonham and John Paul Jones, or Keith Moon and John Entwistle.

The band's song arrangements are always original and surprising, wringing every droplet of dynamism and groove from a single riff, before strutting seamlessly through a flurry of exciting changes that are strung together with the delicacy of dewdrops on a cobweb.

High octane blues rock - very much my thing! Now I just need to see you do it live some time!” – Award winning crime novelist, Ian Rankin

A multi-talented artist, lead guitarist, Matty Pritchard, is also an author and member of the UK Crime Writers Association. He has published three novels in the UK to date - Scarecrow, Broken Arrow and Werewolf -  under the name Matthew Pritchard, and was nominated for the CWA's Gold Dagger Award.

The 109s' eponymous debut album is due out October 7th

Henry Padovani - The Founding Member Of 'The Police' Releases New Album 'I Love Today'

'Padovani has a voice that just envelops you; deep and dark and with a beautiful Corsican accent, even when he whispers he resonates.' - Music News
Listen to 'I Love Today':

From The Police, to Wayne County and the Electric chairs, to The Subterraneans, to The Flying Padovanis to releasing a solo album, Henry Padovani, known as the only Corsican punk, has carved out an impressive career to rival all within the music industry.
Henry hit London in 1976, only coming for a week, but extending his stay, the first gig he saw was The Damned and the next day Henry was a changed man, he cut his long hair and shaved his beard, he was going out every night to a different gig and began meeting members of The Clash, it was not long after Henry met Sting and Stewart Copeland and formed the legendary The Police. London punk gigs were legendary and they soon built a following until Henry decided to go his own way, He continued his punk career with the ground-breaking Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, a major part of the androgynous glam-rock, proto-punk hangover, and succesful on both sides of the Atlantic, who even then hired The Police to support them on a major tour, still following his punk dream, Henry became a member of The Subterraneans, the band formed by NME journalistic legend Nick Kent.

Not long after Henry took a punk hiatus and re-invented himself and emerged with The Flying Padovanis - London's cult psych-punk superstars of choice, with their wild, dark, reverb-drenched, thrash-punk, instrumental music. After all of this Henry was invited to join IRS a record label where Henry was VP of international for ten years, Henry describes the label as 'Only signing bands they liked' this included the likes of The Go Go's, Fine Young Canniballs and even discovered the brilliant R.E.M. Henry's career was really taking shape and fast forward a few years and he was the 'Rock' judge on 'The X Factor'  France. Along the way he has also been an artist manager for Italy's biggest star Zucchero. One of the creators of a 'songwriters retreat', A Radio and TV presenter, A book writer, 'The Secret Police Man', A major film-soundtrack conposer and the star and subject of the Cannes Film Festival listed documentary of his life - 'Rock and Roll... Of Corse' which hits movie theatres all over France from September 21st.

Henry is the strange, enduring link between many artists such as Sting, Cher, Bono, Jeff Beck, Alice Cooper, Kim Wilde, The Pretenders, The Sex Pistols, B.B. King and countless other players in rock's rich history. Music has clearly only been Henry's one true calling and with 'I Love Today', Henry has finally recorded his first full 'solo' album. A rich and sometimes dark mix of unique and emotive, original songs, coupled with some favourites of his long journey on the road - encompassing delta blues, rock and chanson, all flavoured and impregnated with Henry's unique guitar style, his huge, dynamic voice and irrepressible Corsican personality all in time for Punk's 40th anniversary. In amongst Henry's own songs are covers of songs as diverse as 'Into My Arms' - Nick Cave to 'Jealous Guy' by John Lennon, and he even teamed up with Jef Aerosol also known as the 'French Banksy', a charismatic, outlaw street artist to create the album artwork.

Henry is a true punk legend, full of the wildest stories, best friends with numerous legends, and the only way to find out more is to talk to the man himself.
